About Us

Established in 1943, Light Metals was built as a magnesium foundry to support the U.S. government's demand for lightweight aeronautical castings. To meet industrial demands following the war effort, Light Metals diversified its production to include aluminum and brass castings.

To further expand its production and prototype capabilities, in 1968, Light Metals joined forces with Ewing Foundry to become Ewing Light Metals (ELM). Since its inception, ELM has broadened its casting capabilities to include gray and ductile iron.

Today we specialize in rapid innovative prototype castings for all ferrous and non-ferrous castings. We have a fully computerized pattern facility including engineering software capable of accepting most, if not all, file formats. With our many years of experience in the foundry industry, we have integrated the best of old technology with the latest state of the art capability.

At Ewing Light Metals there is no project too small or run too short. With our highly skilled and versatile staff, ELM will help you meet or exceed your casting expectations by ensuring you the most marketable and functional casting available on the market.
